Family Bathroom
Modern Retreat for a Busy Family
This once tired and dated family bathroom had well and truly done its job over the years. Designed for a growing household, the space needed a fresh, functional update - one that balanced durability with a calm, modern aesthetic.
The existing layout worked well, so we retained the overall footprint while making strategic improvements to enhance both usability and flow. A large, rarely used spa was removed and replaced with a more practical 1500mm corner bath, freeing up valuable space without compromising comfort.
The shower was reimagined to better suit the family’s needs - expanded in size and upgraded with a seamless tiled base in place of the old shower tray, creating a more refined and contemporary finish.
Family Bathroom
A key part of the brief was to honour the home’s existing character. Timber features prominently throughout the house, so we continued this language in the bathroom with rich Florentine Walnut vanities, bringing warmth and cohesion to the space.
In contrast, the material palette was kept light and fresh. A soft grey, stone-look floor tile grounds the room, while the walls feature a warm off-white tile with a natural finish - delivering brightness without the harshness of stark white. To add personality and connection to the outdoors, a soft green gloss feature tile was introduced, inspired by the surrounding garden.
Functionality was further enhanced by removing an underutilised decorative niche, allowing for the installation of a generous 2200mm vanity. This upgrade made room for double basins - an essential inclusion for a busy family navigating daily routines.
Finishing touches include feature lighting and brushed nickel tapware, bringing a clean, modern edge while adding warmth and ambience to the overall design.
The result is a considered, practical space that feels calm, cohesive, and built for everyday living.
