Family Bathroom

Warm Contemporary Bathroom Retreat

This tired 90’s bathroom had served our clients well while raising their family, but it no longer suited the way they live today. Wanting to create a more functional and welcoming space for visiting grandkids and guests, the brief was to transform the room into a warm and relaxing retreat with improved practicality and timeless style.

The original layout was very typical of the era, with limited space and a closed-in feel. To achieve a more functional design, we reconfigured the floorplan by removing a cupboard from the adjoining laundry and extending the bathroom footprint. This allowed us to completely rethink the layout and maximise every inch of the room.

By flipping the layout, we were able to significantly increase the shower size and incorporate a larger 1500mm corner bath - creating a space that feels far more open, comfortable, and family-friendly.

Family Bathroom

Our clients were drawn to warm, earthy tones, so we designed the space around a stunning stone-look tile with beautiful natural movement throughout. To create a cohesive and luxurious feel, we wrapped the tile across the entire room, giving the bathroom a seamless and calming aesthetic.

To maintain character within the home, we kept the existing timber architraves and paired them with a Tasmanian Oak finish curved vanity from ADP. The soft curves of the vanity added warmth and softness to the space while complementing the natural textures beautifully.

We continued the curved detailing through the fixtures by selecting brushed nickel tapware from Meir, featuring elegant curved paddle handles that tied the entire design together.

The end result is a warm, contemporary bathroom retreat that feels both functional and inviting — perfectly designed for this next chapter of family living.
